Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 17, 2026 | Last Updated: July 17, 2026

Villgeo is built for neighbors, not advertisers. Your information should help you use your community - not become the product being sold.

Villgeo, LLC ("Villgeo," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Villgeo mobile application, website, web-based tools, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to you.

Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies when you create or use a Villgeo account, use the mobile application, visit a Villgeo-operated website, access web-login or business tools, interact with community content, or contact Villgeo for support, moderation, privacy, or other requests.

This policy does not apply to websites, applications, businesses, or services independently operated by third parties, even when they are linked through Villgeo.

Our Privacy Commitments

We collect only information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the Services.

We do not sell personal information or precise geolocation information.

We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.

We do not allow businesses to purchase access to private user information.

We do not display your live or precise device location to other users.

We use information to support local community participation, safety, moderation, and legitimate service operations.

We provide practical methods to access, correct, export, and delete personal information where required.

Information We Collect

Account and Profile Information

When you create or manage an account, we may collect:

Villgeo does not store your password in readable form.

Location Information

Villgeo is geographically centered. With your affirmative permission through onboarding and device controls, we may collect precise or approximate location information to determine service-area eligibility and connect you to the correct local community.

We may use this information to confirm service-area eligibility, assign your account to a village or community, display locally relevant content, provide map and distance features, detect location spoofing or abuse, and support safety and moderation.

Villgeo does not display your live or precise device location to other users. A specific address that you intentionally publish may be visible to the audience you select. Do not publish a private residence or other sensitive location unless you intend to share it.

You may revoke location permission through your device settings. Some location-based features may then be unavailable. Where practical, Villgeo may offer manual location entry or reduced-function alternatives.

User Content and Community Activity

We collect content and activity you submit or generate through the Services, including:

Content you publish may be visible to other users based on the feature and audience settings you select. Do not publish government identification numbers, payment-card information, medical records, private access codes, or other information that creates a serious safety or identity-theft risk.

Messages and Other Communications

If messaging or other communication features are enabled, Villgeo processes the contents, participants, timestamps, delivery status, attachments, reports, and related metadata necessary to deliver and secure those communications.

Messages are not public merely because they are sent through Villgeo. However, they are not guaranteed to be inaccessible to Villgeo. Authorized personnel or service providers may access communications when reasonably necessary to operate the feature, investigate a report, enforce these Terms or Community Guidelines, protect users, troubleshoot a technical issue, or comply with law.

Device, Network, and Technical Information

When you access the Services, we may automatically collect:

Camera, Photos, Notifications, and Device Permissions

Permissions are controlled through your device settings. A camera feed used solely to scan a QR code is not retained unless you separately capture or upload an image.

Support, Privacy, and Moderation Information

When you contact Villgeo or submit a report, we may collect your contact information, the contents of the request, attachments or screenshots, support and troubleshooting records, privacy and deletion requests, moderation reports, appeals, and other information you voluntarily provide.

How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

We will not use personal information for a materially different purpose without appropriate notice and, where required, consent.

Public and Community Information

Villgeo is a community platform. Depending on your settings and the feature being used, other users may see your display name, profile photograph, general village or neighborhood, profile description, posts, comments, listings, events, group participation, business or service information, and other information you intentionally publish.

Villgeo will not publicly display your live device location. Information that you make public may be copied, photographed, recorded, or redistributed by other people. Villgeo cannot control information another person stores or shares outside the Services.

How We Share Information

With Other Villgeo Users

We share profile information, posts, listings, events, comments, messages, and other community activity according to the feature and audience settings you select.

With Service Providers

We may provide information to vendors that perform services on our behalf, including cloud hosting, databases, authentication, email and notification delivery, mapping and geocoding, file storage, application monitoring, crash reporting, security, content moderation, customer support, and backup or disaster recovery.

Service providers may process information only as needed to provide services to Villgeo or as otherwise permitted by contract and law. We require appropriate data protection and do not authorize service providers to use Villgeo information for their own targeted advertising.

For Legal, Safety, and Security Reasons

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with a valid legal demand, respond to an emergency involving serious harm, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce Villgeo rules, protect rights or safety, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. We may challenge demands we believe are invalid, overly broad, or unlawful.

Business Transactions

If Villgeo is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. A successor must handle personal information consistently with this policy unless users receive legally required notice and choices.

With Your Direction or Consent

We may share information when you direct us to do so or provide consent.

No Sale of Personal Information or Targeted Advertising

Villgeo does not sell personal information, precise geolocation information, profile information, community activity, or user-generated content to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties. Villgeo does not process personal information for targeted advertising based on activity across unaffiliated websites or applications.

Local businesses may use Villgeo business features, but payment to Villgeo does not provide access to private user information or permit undisclosed manipulation of community content.

Moderation, Safety, and Automated Processing

Villgeo may use automated tools, rules, classifiers, service providers, and human review to detect spam, sexual content, illegal activity, personally identifying information, threats, fraud, prohibited marketplace items, and other policy violations. These systems may analyze text, images, metadata, account behavior, reports, and related context.

Automated systems can make mistakes. Villgeo may provide reporting and appeal channels, and may retain limited evidence when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect users, document enforcement, or comply with law.

Analytics, Cookies, and Similar Technologies

Villgeo websites and web tools may use cookies, local storage, session tokens, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, secure accounts, remember preferences, complete QR-based web login, prevent fraud, maintain functionality, and measure basic performance. Villgeo does not use these technologies to sell user profiles or conduct cross-site targeted advertising.

You may control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the Services from working.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Unless a longer period is reasonably necessary:

Deleting an account cannot erase information that another person independently copied or stored outside Villgeo.

Account Deletion and Deidentified Reward Records

You may request deletion through account settings in the Villgeo application, through the external account-deletion page, or by contacting support:

In-app path
Account Settings > Account > Delete Account
Deletion page
https://villgeo.com/account-deletion
Email
[email protected]

When a verified request is submitted, Villgeo will promptly revoke active sessions, disable authentication, remove the public profile, and begin deletion. Account deletion means deletion of the account and associated personal information - not temporary deactivation or freezing.

Villgeo will generally complete deletion or deidentification from active systems within 30 days and will respond to authenticated privacy requests without undue delay and within the period required by applicable law.

Public posts or interactions may be removed or may remain only after they are detached from the deleted account and deidentified in a manner that is not reasonably reversible. Content containing personal information, precise location, private media, or other identifying details will be deleted or scrubbed as appropriate. You may request deletion of specific content when account-level deidentification is not sufficient.

Certain reward, reputation, or contribution records may be retained in deidentified form to preserve aggregate system integrity, historical totals, fraud-prevention controls, and service analytics. Retained records will not contain the former user's name, email address, telephone number, precise location, authentication information, device identifiers, or a reversible connection to the deleted account.

A deidentified reward identifier will not be used to restore the former account, reconnect retained records to the former user, or transfer a deleted reward balance to a future account. Rewards are forfeited when the associated account is deleted unless Villgeo expressly states otherwise.

Limited information may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, enforcement, or protection of other users. Retained information will be restricted to the applicable purpose and deleted when no longer reasonably necessary.

Security

Villgeo uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. These may include encryption in transit, encryption at rest where supported, access controls, authentication protections, least-privilege administration, logging and monitoring, backups, vendor reviews, and testing or vulnerability-management procedures.

No application, database, or transmission method is completely secure. Villgeo cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure will never occur. You are responsible for protecting your credentials and promptly notifying Villgeo of suspected unauthorized access.

Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have the right to:

You do not need to create a new account or reinstall the application to submit a request. We may verify your identity and authority before acting. Villgeo will respond without undue delay and generally within 45 days. When permitted and reasonably necessary, that period may be extended, and we will explain the reason.

If Villgeo denies a privacy request, you may appeal by replying to the decision or emailing [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Appeal." An authorized agent may act for you where permitted by law, subject to reasonable proof of authority.

Children's Privacy and Age Requirement

Villgeo is intended only for adults who are at least 18 years old. Individuals under 18 may not create or use an account.

Villgeo does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child or underage person created an account or provided personal information without legally sufficient authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete the account and associated information. A parent or guardian may contact [email protected].

United States Operations

Villgeo is operated from the United States. Information may be stored and processed in the United States and in other locations where contracted service providers operate. Those locations may have privacy laws different from your own. Villgeo will use appropriate contractual and security protections when required.

Third-Party Services and Links

Villgeo content may link to independently operated websites, maps, businesses, payment services, event pages, or other resources. Villgeo does not control their privacy practices, security, availability, or content. Review their policies before providing information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when features, data practices, vendors, security practices, laws, or platform requirements change. We will update the "Last Updated" date. If a change materially affects how personal information is collected, used, or shared, we will provide additional notice when required.

Villgeo will not quietly convert previously collected information into advertising inventory or sell it merely because a policy paragraph changed.
